Comic Show This Sunday!

It is time again.  Y'all needs to get off your collective butts, pack up some books, and come join us at the Shrewsbury American Legion Hall (Post #111) for the last St. Louis Spector Club Comic Book Show for 2008.  I'll be there this time, I promise.  No sickness to speak of in the Jobe household this week, so I shouldn't be piloting the couch again this time.  I hope to see you all there.

As always, if you need more information about the show, you can find it here...

D'OH!

I didn't make it to the St. Louis Spector Club Comic Show about a week and a half ago.  I was in bed with a nasty cold watching football.  Actually, I think I slept through more football than I actually watched, but did not make it in to visit the rest of the local comic geeks nonetheless.  I'm afraid that means that I also have no pics this time around, or even anything to say about it.  If any of you out there who did attend would like to donate some pictures or have anything to say about the show, I'd be happy to post whatever you have.

With any luck, I'll avoid the sick people, and stay well enough to make it to the next show on November 23.  Hope to see you there!

Better late than never! I'm finally here with the pics from the most recent show. Sorry for the delay.

Having a brew...

Here I am with the Unity #1 Platinum Variant I purchased for the tidy sum of $1.00.
I love cheap HTF Valiants.

The St. Louis Spector Club Comic Book Show - 7/20/08

Apparently nice sunny days in the middle of July don't make for great comic book shows.  We managed to prove that just this last Sunday at the American Legion Post #111 as the show did not have a very large crowd.  I would wager that many of the dealers did not sell very well unless they were offering large discounts.  There just weren't enough people there spending for anyone to have made any real money.

I'm glad that I didn't setup a table myself, and rather went to chat with everyone and purchase some stuff for myself.  I did manage to find a fair amount of issues that I needed, and some that were just so cheap I couldn't pass them up.  Thanks to all the dealers that I did business with.  Enough about me though, here's the pics from the show.

St. Louis Spector Club Comic Book Show - 6/8/08

They say that pictures say a thousand words. To celebrate our first St. Louis comic show here on the new blog, we're going to use pictures to do most of the work. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take as many as I wanted as I had forgotten to empty the memory card in the camera before the show. Hopefully you'll enjoy the batch I did manage to capture...
