Ian Pengilley
Comics have been a fun ride for me in one form or another throughout what I
can remember of life. As a kid of 7 years or so I remember my Dad buying
comics from a market stall for my brother and me to keep us quiet; I got
the Spidey and Captain America books while my brother was into Batman and
Superman.
Years later, while at school, I was inspired by the Marvel Superheroes
Role-Playing game to delve deeper into the Marvel Universe and picked up
all the current titles I could get my hands on. With some luck I happened
upon a great run of Iron Man in a second-hand book store and I was hooked!
I did my best on a budget of pocket money to buy as many back issues as I
could, and even picked up a #1.

With peer pressure exerted during University years and after, it wasn't
until I dug out those books in 2002 that I realised how great they were.
I was intending to sell them on that new-fangled eBay site when I sat back,
opened a few and started buying again!
In between times I managed to qualify as an Optometrist, get married to a
beautiful girl and settle down (with our other family member, Stinker the cat)
in a great part of London.
